REHABILITATION LOANS AVAILABLE
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
The USDA has announced that it has rehab funds available for low income who have a good credit history and can repay a loan. Loans will be made for necessary repairs for the elderly and income eligible households. The loans are only for communities of less than 20,000. Eligible repairs include furnaces, roofs, electrical wiring, water heaters, storm doors and handicapped assessable features. Loans are based on family size and income. A single income family can not exceed $19,300 per year and a double income family can not exceed $22,050. Grants may be available to the elderly 62 and over who can not repay the loan to remove safety and health hazards.
